Flights to Regional Airports

In a world where time is of the essence and every moment of a holiday counts, Colorado is an easy and effortless winter destination for skiers and snowboarders.  With seamless air service and convenient ground transportation, getting to and traveling around the skier's paradise has never been easier.

The regional airports offer more than 8.6 million passenger seats and more than half of Colorado's ski areas are located within 35 miles of an airport.  United Airlines is the largest carrier to the regional airports and offers convenient and timely access.  Air service continues to increase into the regional airports that provide direct non-stop flights to major ski markets, including Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE)
Aspen-Pitkin County Airport's current annual enplaned passengers total 249,000, which makes the airport the third busiest airport in the state. Passenger services inside the terminal building include a full service restaurant and bar, courtesy phones, rest room facilities, gift shop, lockers, various ground transportation providers, and five rental car agencies.

Services: Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain, and Sunlight ski resorts.

Flight Information:

  • United Express, Northwest Airlink and America West operate daily, year-round scheduled service.
  • Sky West Airlines will operate two United Airlines flights each day from Chicago and one a day from San Francisco on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • This winter Delta Air Lines will offer new daily nonstop jet service from Salt Lake City.
  • 150 nonstop and connecting flights fly weekly into Aspen/Pitkin County Airport. From the airport, it's only six miles to Snowmass Village and three to Aspen.
  • Flights are available into Eagle County Airport, 75-minutes away.

Durango La Plata County Airport (DRO)
With a 9,200 foot runway, modern secure terminal, service from three air carriers, and serving three hubs, Durango La Plata County Airport is truly a regional airport. Located approximately 15 miles southeast of Durango, Colorado, it provides the major air access point for the Four Corners Region.

Services: Durango (Purgatory), Telluride, Silverton, and Wolf Creek ski resorts.

Flight Information:

  • United Express offers nine daily flights from Denver.
  • US Airways offers three daily flights from Phoenix.
  • Delta provides three flights daily from Salt Lake City.

Eagle County Airport (EGE)
Just minutes from Vail, Eagle County Airport gets you directly to the heart of the Colorado Rockies, year round. Terminal amenities include gift shops, restaurants, ground transportation and rental car services, games for the kids, and free wireless internet.
 
Services: Copper Mountain, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone ski resorts.

Flight Information:

  • American Airlines offers four daily flights from Dallas/Fort Worth, two from Chicago, and one from Newark, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.
  • Continental Airlines flies twice daily from Houston and once from Newark.
  • Delta has daily flights from both Cincinnati and Atlanta.
  • Northwest Airlines flies daily from Minneapolis.
  • United Airlines offers four daily flights from Denver.
  • US Airways provides a daily flight from Philadelphia and Charlotte.
  • In the winter, American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United, United Express, and US Airways provide non-stop jet service between EGE and thirteen major U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.

Gunnison-Crested Butte Airport (GUC)
The Gunnison-Crested Butte Airport provides frequent and convenient jet service with airline partners American Airlines, United and United Express. For convenient shuttle services to and from the airport, Alpine Express is available for door-to-door service, as well as Dollar, Hertz, and Avis car rentals.

Services: Crested Butte and Monarch ski resorts.

Flight Information:

  • American Airlines flies daily from Dallas/Fort Worth this winter, with two flights on Saturdays.
  • United Airlines has a flight from Denver daily.
  • United Express is providing four daily flights from Denver this winter.

Montrose Airport (MTJ)
Montrose Airport terminal services include: the Jetway Café, gift shop, rental car, shuttle and airline ticket counters, public telephones, and an additional family room. Rental cars and ground transportation within the terminal building are Dollar, Hertz, National/Alamo, Mountain Limo, Telluride Express, and Thrifty. The offsite car rental and shuttle companies are Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Alpine Luxury Limo, Alpine Express, Consider It Done Luxury Limo Service, and Luxe Limo.

Services: Telluride, Durango (Purgatory), and Silverton ski resorts.

Flight Information:

  • American Airlines flies from Dallas/Fort Worth seven days a week and from Chicago on Saturdays. Effective June 14, 2007 through September 4, 2007, American Airlines will provide summer daily service between Dallas Ft. Worth and the Montrose Regional airport.
  • Continental Airlines is flying from Houston daily, with two flights on Saturdays, and from Newark on Saturdays.
  • Delta Airlines flies from Salt Lake City daily (1-2 flights), as well as Atlanta on Saturdays.
  • United Airlines flies from Los Angeles on Saturday.
  • United Express flies from Denver seven days a week.
  • Non-stop jet service operates 12/15/06 to 4/8/07 for most flights. Some flights have reduced schedules 1/7/07-2/15/07.

Steamboat/Hayden Airport (HDN)
Steamboat/Hayden Airport, just 22 miles from Steamboat Ski Resort, has already begun construction of Phase II of a 5-year, $18 million improvement project. Major Phase II improvements, scheduled for completion by December 2006 include: doubling the terminal size by adding 23,000+ square feet, creating a spacious ticket lobby with additional counter positions, additional food and beverage options for travelers, doubling the size of restroom facilities, a new, fully functional curbside check-in facility, plus an expanded gate area with increased seating.

Services: Steamboat and Howelsen ski resorts.

Flight Information:

  • American Airlines flies daily from Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth with additional Saturday flights from Dallas/Fort Worth.
  • Continental Airlines flies from Houston and Newark daily, with additional Saturday flights from Houston.
  • Delta offers daily flights from Atlanta as well as two daily flights from Salt Lake City.
  • Northwest flies from Minneapolis/St. Paul daily.
  • United Airlines offers daily flights from Denver.
  • Steamboat is accessible by nonstop air service from eight major U.S. cities on American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, and United Airlines in addition to one-stop connecting service from more than 150 other domestic and international cities.

Telluride Airport (TEX)
Situated a convenient seven minutes from the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village, the Telluride Regional Airport affords travelers an opportunity to bypass the hour-plus shuttle ride associated with the region's other airport facilities. Telluride Regional Airport sits atop Deep Creek Mesa and is North America's highest commercial airport. At 9,078 feet, the airport offers picturesque views of the San Juan mountains. Direct and connecting air service is provided by Great Lakes Airlines and America West Express through Denver and Phoenix.

  • American West/US Air flies twice daily from Phoenix.

Walker Field Airport in Grand Junction, Colorado provides easy access to tourist destinations throughout Western Colorado.

Services: Powderhorn and Sunlight ski resorts.

  • America West Express/Mesa Airlines offers daily service from Phoenix.
  • Delta offers daily service from Salt Lake City.
  • Great Lakes Airlines provides daily service to Denver.
  • United Express offers daily flights from Denver.
  • Alegiant Air has two direct flights from Las Vegas on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Frontier offers four daily flights from Denver.
  • Walker Field Airport features over 19 daily flights to and from Denver, Phoenix and Salt Lake City and over 500 one-stop connections to cities in the United States, Canada, Europe and Central America.
