Web Cameras:
Steamboat's Mountain Cam network is comprised of a series of cameras, located across the resort.  These remote controlled online cameras continually update images to the resort's website individuals to see for themselves what the condition on the mountain are like in real-time.  The first live camera was installed at the same time the resort's satellite uplink system went into operation in 1995. On-mountain cameras may be accessed through the following link which will be live by November 21, 2007:  http://www.steamboat.com/mountain-cam.aspx.
Steamboat's on-mountain cameras are web-only, but they employ a full-time videographer on staff and shoot broadcast quality video throughout the season. Please contact Mike or Heidi for details.

Online Video:
Steamboat posts online video to http://www.steamboat.com/mountain/gallery.aspx, which will be live by November 21, 2007.  For broadcast quality video, please contact Mike or Heidi.

Broadcast Quality Video:
Steamboat was the first ski resort in the country to install a satellite uplink facility.  The facility, which debuted in 1995, allows live coverage of breaking news, weather conditions, signature events as well as athlete and resort interviews. This facility enables the resort to transmit taped video, live images and provide a direct link to television stations around the globe.  Two live locations, one at the base of the gondola and the other at Thunderhead, the mid-mountain gondola terminal, allow immediate plug-in access to television crews to go "live" in a matter of minutes.
The resort has generated well over 3,000 live remotes since the system came online.  The Satellite Uplink plays an integral part in the resort's brand messaging campaigns and has established itself as a reliable and reputable source for television stations across the country.  The public relations department is called upon to produce/direct several photo shoots and numerous live remotes for visiting crews, and on occasion acts as the only support for live remotes from the Steamboat location. The resort's PR Director is a fully licensed satellite technician.

Steamboat sends out satellite alerts for major events, snowfall and other purposes and posts them online. Any media outlet looking for footage should call Mike or Heidi.
