Colorado Skier Visits Show Resilience, Strength in the Front Range

BOULDER, Colo. - June 11, 2009 - Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) announced today at its 46th Annual Meeting, that its 22 member resorts hosted an estimated 6.79 million skier visits during the 2008-09 ski season. This represents a decrease of 6.9 percent, or approximately 500,000 skier visits, compared to last season, which was the second best season on record. Compared to the five year average, CSCUSA member resort skier visits are down only 3.9 percent.

Colorado Ski License Plate Measure Ready for Signing

DENVER, Colo. - May 1, 2009 - Late last night, the Senate gave the legislature's final thumbs-up to a bill authorizing special Colorado skiing license plates. The measure now makes its way to the Governor's desk for signing. The license plates, which depict a skier and rider enjoying their sports under a bluebird Colorado sky, should be available in time for next ski season.

Colorado Ski Industry Shows Mid-Season Stability

DENVER, Colo. - March 12, 2009 - Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) announced today that skier visits at its 22 member resorts during the second period of the 2008-09 ski season, which counts skier visitation from January 1 through February 28, were off by 5.8 percent compared to last year's same period number. However, visitation is up slightly compared to the five year average for second period visitation, which includes three years that were the highest on record.

CSCUSA Skier Visits Show Skier and Snowboarder Dedication

New terrain, restaurants, and lodging highlight Telluride Ski Resort's opening this winter. The Resort will open the Gondola, Village Express (Lift 4) and the Chondola this Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 2008.
