February Out Like a Lion... March In Like a Lion - Another
Massive Winter Storm Hits Colorado Rockies
(DENVER, Colo. - February 28, 2007) - As yet another massive
winter storm works its way across Colorado, February is roaring its
way out while March roars its way in to 2007.

Colorado Ski Country member resorts are reporting excellent
mid-winter snow conditions with powder, powder and more powder on
tap for the weekend. As of 2:00p.m today, all 26 Colorado ski
resorts were reporting heavy snowfall with as much as 16 inches of
fresh powder falling in the last 24-hours. Meanwhile, 48-hour
storm totals are reaching depths of more than a foot and a half of
new snow.
The following are a few of the most current Colorado snow
stats:
- As of 2:00p.m., Arapahoe Basin was reporting "awesome"
conditions and up to ten inches of new snow in the last 48
hours.
- Eighteen inches of snow fell at Aspen/Snowmass in the last 24
hours and more than two feet blanketed area slopes in the last 48
hours.
- Beaver Creek has received 26 inches of fresh powder in the last
week, bringing the resort's mid-mountain snow totals to 231 inches
year-to-date.
- Breckenridge has received up to 18 inches of new snow in last
72 hours and is 126 percent of normal snowfall at its summit.
- Copper Mountain has received a half a foot of new snow in the
last 24 hours, bringing their 72-hour total to more than a foot of
powder.
- With 17 inches of new snow in the last two days, Crested Butte
skiers and riders are enjoying the best of the steeps and the deeps
the resort has to offer.
- At Echo Mountain it was snowing an inch an hour throughout the
morning.
- Keystone Mountain has received a foot and a half of new snow at
its mid-mountain in the last week.
- Situated high atop the Continental Divide, Loveland Ski Area is
reporting more than a half a foot of new snow at mid-mountain in
the last 24 hours.
- Located in the heart of the storm track, Monarch Mountain has
received five feet of powder in the last two weeks.
- On the Western Slope, Powderhorn Ski Area has received nearly
three feet of powder with this latest storm system.
- Purgatory Mountain has received a foot of fresh snow since
6:00a.m. today.
- With a base depth topping out at nearly 100 inches, Silverton
Ski Area is reporting heavy snowfall this afternoon and 16 inches
of new snow in the last 24 hours.
- In the last seven days, Ski Cooper has received more than a
half a foot of new snow.
- Steamboat has received more than 10 feet of snow at its summit
during the month of February for a grand total of 286 inches of
Champagne Powder® so far this season.
- Telluride Ski Resort has also been pounded with snow this
year. With nearly two feet of new snow in the last week,
Telluride's year-to-date snowfall total is topping out at more than
18 feet at its summit.
- With 29 inches of powder at mid-mountain in the last seven
days, Vail is 26 inches ahead of its February snowfall
average.
- Winter Park Ski Area is reporting nine inches of new snow in
the last 24-hours.
- Reporting heavy snowfall this afternoon, Wolf Creek Ski Area
has received nearly a half a foot of new snow at its mid-mountain
since 6:00a.m., bringing its monthly snowfall total to well over
five feet.
