COLORADO SKI COUNTRY USA FILES INTERVENTION IN SNODGRASS APPEAL

State Trade Association Files on Behalf 19 Public-Land Ski Areas

DENVER, Colo. - December 24, 2009 - Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) today filed a petition to intervene in Crested Butte Mountain Resort's (CBMR) appeal of a recent US Forest Service decision concerning the ski area's proposed expansion onto Snodrgass Mountain. CSCUSA filed the petition to intervene on behalf of 19 of its member ski areas that operate on public lands.

CSCUSA and its public-land-based members are concerned about the Forest Service's decision to reject future lift-served skiing on Snodgrass without conducting a public review under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

The petition for intervention was filed with the US Forest Service's Regional Forester in Lakewood. It asks that the Forest Service rescind its decision and allow public review of CBMR's plan under NEPA.
