Spring Snowstorm Sweeps
through Colorado Ski Country
All Member Resorts Receive Fresh Powder, Ready For Spring Break
Denver, CO, March 9, 2010 - Spring break
travelers to Colorado this week will be welcomed by events, deals
and double digit amounts of fresh snow. In the last 48 hours, snow
accumulation in the mountains has reached as much as 18 inches at
resorts such as Monarch and Wolf Creek.
Other
resorts with two-day, double-digit snow totals include Telluride,
Powderhorn and Silverton each with 15 inches. Copper Mountain and
Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort are measuring 10 inches.
Eight inches of fresh snow fell at Arapahoe Basin and Snowmass
over the last two days. Just over half-a-foot of winter white
coated Winter Park while six inches piled up at Aspen, Aspen
Highlands, Loveland and Ski Cooper.
SolVista Basin acquired five inches of new snow and Buttermilk,
Sunlight, Howelsen Hill and Echo saw four inches of fresh. The
two-day storm left three inches at Steamboat and measurable amounts
of fresh frozen precipitation at Crested Butte and Eldora.
